Dr. Anna Guevarra and Dr. Gayatri Reddy, from the University of Illinois, will present a public lecture on their exciting new research on the transnational travels of food: the Portuguese bebinca and its travel to the Philippines and Goa (India), a framework that allows this anthropologist and sociologist to address labor, political economy, gender, and race based on their recent archival and oral history research.
